JK Rowling's First Adult Book
Is it just me that finds all this talk of “Adult Books” insulting? What was immature about Rowling’s first 7 books? The life and death struggles? The genuine affection readers developed for her characters? Or the ethical questions it raised about government secrecy, the duties and rights of the individual, as well as a general tale of love and acceptance triumphing over hate and exclusion?
Bah, color me excited about anything JK wants to write. And I’ll keep my Harry Potter books right next to the Tolkien, and Martin without worrying about whether or not to label her books by intended audience age.
