I LOVED “Best Buy” the first time I discovered it. It was in Lake Charles, and I thought I might have gone to heaven. Aisle after aisle of electronics, movies, music. It was, in a word, breathtaking for a tech geek like me. I became obsessed with the big-box retailer and would demand a visit anytime we were remotely near one.
I can’t remember the last time I felt joy from visiting a Best Buy. This article from Techland sums up the worst parts pretty succinctly. When I go to Best Buy today, it’s in replacement of Radio Shack a decade ago. I need cables or adapters for the tech gear that I’ve purchased elsewhere and can’t wait for shipping.
I’m FORCED to visit Best Buy, I don’t seek them out. I bet the same is true for most of their customers these days. The problem only gets worse until they make their store a pleasant experience again.
