Poem of the Day: Filling the Hole

It's a big one
Sort of oddly shaped
and I've tried to stuff it
with all sorts of things.

Possessions and pastimes,
Obsessions and offerings
but none have fit.
quite right.

It's the edges that cause problems
You can fill the center
pretty well, but those corners
and curves let in the draft.

It wasn't always here,
The hole,
it appeared right after
you left.

I'll send you a picture
& you see if you've got
something of mine
that lines up.
