Well, hello there.
I've kind of dropped of the face of the electronic planet, not writing in longform (I have dropped a few tweets here and there) in more than a month. I've been busy preparing for the arrival of the newest member of Team Awesome (expected arrival time: Thursday at Noon) and keeping New Orleans Non-profits safe for...the volunteers, I guess.
Anyway, I've got a blog post I'm working on in advance of the new baby's arrival and will of course post pictures immediately afterwards (thank you, iPhone and ever-present internet) but I wanted to let people know about this tremendous movie I saw last night.
"A Gunfight" is a movie I've read about several times over the years but is just underappreciated enough to have gone unseen by me (and I'm guessing most of you). It stars Kirk Douglas and Johnny Cash. They both play gunfighters past their prime, struggling to come to terms with their new places in the world. As I said this morning on my twitter feed:
"A Gunfight". A story about the terrible things we do to each other for money, fame and boredom. A showcase for Cash and Douglas #140review
It's a wonderful movie and now that I've seen it, it's hard to believe that it's such a well-kept secret. For fans of Westerns, Douglas, Cash or just good movies, it comes highly recommended by yours truly.
Thanks and I hope everyone has a great week.
