25 Years, 18 Days, 18 Goals

We are 18 days from the celebration of my first quarter century on the third planet from the sun. (I can't tell you how hard it is to come up with new ways to say that). In honor of this auspicious occasion (and because I like to read my words, as well as hear myself talk), I am listing 25 goals, one a day, that I wish to accomplish in my next quarter century.

18. Learn to fly. -- While it would be swell, I don't mean on my own power. I have no illusions that I'll be able to grow wings any time soon, or anything. I'm talking about pilot's lessons. It's something I hadn't given a lot of thought to until very recently, when I began to imagine what I'd do for fun, once I've conquered the world as a writer. Seriously, I hope to be a successful writer someday, and with that success, I think it'd be an awful lot of fun to learn to fly. Not to mention the fact that if I could fly my own plane it would make the round-the-world trips that Ella wants to take that much easier (and I could just fly to the nearest civilization for a hamburger, no matter where we were).

18 shopping days left to pick up the baubles and trinkets you wish to donate for my celebration. Who am I kidding? Buy yourself something nice, and think about me while you do it. Who am I kidding? Buy yourself something nice, and think of yourself while you do it.
